Passage: 1 John 5

Have you ever struggled with your Christian walk? Has doing what the Bible says seemed to be boring and tedious? You know what is right, but you just don’t want to? If you said, “Yes” to any of these questions, you’re not alone. Many people struggle with this and more. However, even though you are not alone, God doesn’t want us to stay there, doubting His goodness and strength.

The reason we struggle with living for Jesus is because our relationship with Him is weak. Often, it is because we aren’t spending much time with Him in His Word and prayer. Other times, it is because we are hanging out with the wrong crowd, or have allowed other bad influences in our lives.

God has promised that He will supply every need and that includes the need of His power to help us live for Him. His power is obtained through constantly developing a real relationship with Him through faith. Every day, moment by moment, trust God and have confidence in Him to help. Each day, commit to spending time with Him in prayer and Bible study. Make this time in His Word something special. What you’ll find is a new outlook on life. Instead of being a struggle, you’ll find God’s way is truly the best way. You’ll find strength to help in time of need. You’ll find there is pleasure forever more at His right hand (Ps 16:11).
