Rapture Ready
If you knew the Lord Jesus Christ would return today, how would you live? If you knew that He would return next week, what would you change? If you knew that He would return within a month, what would you teach your children? First Century pastors and Christians believed Jesus Christ could come back at any moment. As a result of this belief, they lived their lives for Him. They lived in such a way that honored Christ.
Building Our Lives on Jesus
It is very important to use the correct tools and correct products to build with. This series, Building on the Rock takes the analogy of building and weaves it into the building or fashioning of our lives. The ultimate goal of every believer is to be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ, which brings glory to God. How do we accomplish this practically day by day? What tools to we use? This series will help us know the tools and the right products. Because, after all, you can use the wring ones. I believe no one sets out to develop a poor product, but often times because we aren’t careful to maintain the right focus, we lose sight of what we are using and the end results are not always the best.
Haggai
Haggai is only 2 short chapters, which covers a period of time about 4 months in length. He preaches four short messages, but they are powerful. As we study the book we will look at each message individually just as it was given by the Lord through Haggai.
There is a common theme that runs through the book of Haggai. The theme is Consider. Consider your ways, consider the Lord, consider your actions, and consider your faith.
Breaking the Bonds
Our enemy, the devil, has been very good at causing God’s children to live in bondage to a variety of items, from fear, worry, and anxiety, to anger and depression, to lying, theft, gossip, and more. These bonds hold us back from being who God desires us to be. As a result, we don’t live the life God says we have in Him. For some, the bonds in which they live define them. It is who they are and they are scared to break through them. Others believe there is no hope of change.
Ruth
The book of Ruth is such a wonderful book in the Word of God. It is full of so much practical wisdom and guidance. Yet, beyond the practical, it is one of the most beautiful love stories ever written. There is tragedy and death, pain and suffering, villains and foes, and of course, the hero and the damsel in distress. This is a beautiful love story. The book begins with the words, “Now it came to pass…” That sounds an awful lot like, “Once upon a time…” What an incredible start.
Walking with Jesus
God has called us to be conformed to the image of His precious Son, Jesus. To do this, we must understand Who Jesus was and Who He is.
This study will take us through the Gospel records (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) chronologically. This study walks us through the life of Jesus Christ. We will walk with Jesus where He walked as He walked. As best as we can, we will travel with Christ, taking in the sites, understanding the history of the area and its importance. We will also see who Christ spoke with, and what He said.
